From one perspective, all media is “fake”. Writers and journalists choose perspectives based on how they view the world and what they know about the world. But the magic lies, as Georgia O’Keeffe so beautifully stated, in making the unknown known: “Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant—there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the important thing—and keeping the unknown always beyond you…”When I Google “The best ski resorts in the world”, list after list are listing only North American and European resorts. It’s what the writers know, what the advertisers are paying for and what most of the audience wants to read about. My third day on snow (and first day skiing on the mountain in Stowe) in 25 years was relatively uneventful.Didn’t manage to connect with a couple people I had hoped to but did run across an old friend I hadn’t seen in over 25 years and holy cow, that was fun catching up. The amazing thing was I saw them skiing towards me and knew exactly who it was by the way they were skiing. The photograph displayed may or may not accurately reflect actual events that transpired today.
