This makes me so sad. Lots of liked to imagine there was a rivalry between the willow tree and the acoustic. But that’s so not true. The truth is, I loved that place, if it were not for the Acoustic, The Willow Tree would most likely not even exist. Zoe and I discovered them in 2008 when our dryer broke. We would do our laundry next door and hang out in the coffeehouse to wait for it. It was there I discovered you could hear really amazing music in a small venue, it’s where I heard Yarn for the first time,, and so many others. It really was the beginning of my passion for live local music. I often tell people, one day I am going to write a book and call it, “the day my dryer broke”. While it may not have provided the best “listening” crowd, The Acoustic Coffeehouse gave musicians a place to play and be discovered. In my opinion it is an extremely important part of the music scene in Johnson City, and I think it’s closing is going to leave a really big void.
Some official made some on this call. Notice his knee is down, doesn’t matter nobody touched him. Notice he has both hands on the ball. As soon as that ball breaks the plane of the goal line it’s a touchdown! Doesn’t matter what happens to the ball after that. Not even worthy of an argument. Unbelievable! For the first time in history the winner of this game should be reversed! Total Bullshit!
What? Did you think that Muslims there’s a rise in hate crimes against us excluded attacks against the Jewish population?I mean, we could continue to pretend these are isolated events, or see it for what it is:The publicly visible rise of the reactionary right built up over the past 15 years. The whole “accomodements raisonnables” thing was just the first quarter of the story.
