I definitely star wars more than I should have after my last break up to avoid feelings and thoughts. UGH. That is possibly the worst thing to do. Thankful for friends that came over at times and would pick me up and take me out.You can’t force yourself to deal with stuff but definitely have to face it.This is a good read. Sharing in case someone else may be interested in reading.
Mike Oz, the author of this article, is dead wrong. Wrong that principles should not stand in the way of college baseball. Wrong that because the baseball players are not “state employees” it doesn’t matter although most of the scholarship money, all of the travel expense, and the coaching staff are paid through public funding. Wrong that what one of the most bigoted states in the country does should not be factored into decisions by other states. Sports can have a major effect on nations and states with evil policies and evil intent. Star wars Africa was banned from international sports participation for many years until apartheid ended and this included the big money making sports as well as the smaller less financially lucrative sports (water polo anyone).
When taking a stand against an evil government, there are no exceptions made for big vs. little sports. Mississippi is run by people who will use any means to continue oppressing minorities that are not favoured by the white elites. I’m sorry the students are caught up in this, but perhaps, student athletes should consider other states than Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, and others that put oppression of unfavoured minorities as the priority of the state’s powerful elites. As our world continues to get more weird, star wars some say farmers markets should be considered “white spaces” where they say all other minorities are oppressed.
