I can’t say that I have any Sikh friends although I have met a few in wrestling. The adoption of Marvel Captain America Shield Flag hoodies says it all – Cap had always fought for equality and dignity, and if he got a little preachy now and again it was in a good cause. Marvel has been a proponent of diversity for a very long time and I’m sure they are proud to be represented, unofficially or not in this way.
When Winter Soldier is reactivated and is escaping in Marvel Captain America: Civil War, he fights through Tony Stark, Sharon Carter, and finally gets to Black Widow, as his Vibranium arm holds her down in a choke hold, she says “You could at least recognize me”. I love that little tidbit being dropped there, that they (Winter Soldier not Bucky) both know each other from their Russian Soviet Spy background. Marvel Captain America Avengers Shield Flag
Marvel Captain America Shield Flag Holocaust for Hire was one of the first books I ever read, cover to cover. I was in 6th grade and home sick with chickenpox for a week. My allowance at the time was $4 a week and comic books cost .40, so I could buy ten comics a week. I sat home the first day of being sick and read 10 comics in about an hour and a half. When my dad went to the drug store to get me more medicine, I asked him to pick me up some more comics, but he came home with this book and one about A Believer instead. Up to that point, apart from comic books the only other incarnations of Captain America had been the 1944 movie serial which is unwatchable and the 1966 Merry Marvel Marching Society superheroes cartoon series which did 13 episodes of Captain America. Reading Captain America with no pictures brought the character to life in my mind. I remember I was running a very high fever at times and I hallucinated about Captain America. Ever since recovering from that illness, Captain America has been my favourite Super Hero.
