As is well documented I am no fan and his compliments of DeBlasio maybe for his own cynical political games. Nevertheless he is 1000% better than the 2 republicans counterparts that were there before him. His biggest achievement is free universal pre k. Our kids are already a step ahead of the country. In addition the funding and other resources set aside for women and minorities in the area of small businesses and most important of all the commitment of his administration to the environment and to a greener and sustainable NYC. Still need to work on affordable housing though. End of stop and frisk and no increase in crime. Wow who would of thought that was possible?
I used to think was just “Crazy Bernie”, as President Trump used to call him during the presidential campaign. I no longer think Bernie is just a crazy old man. After reading his posts, I now know he is a very smart, plotting, rich politician, that is pandering to the ignorance of his political base, and sadly making a lot of money by pretending to be a ‘socialist that cares about the poor’. It is sadly obvious that he, and people like him (left leaning socialists type), are either very ignorant of history (followers), and or know it very well, and are lying to those who do not know any better.
Listening to U.S. Senator, in this interview, was almost surreal, he’s talking about the major issues, practices and institutions, that he believes are anti-democratic and must be defeated- private prisons whose growth depends on more and more inmates, more crime; privatised national security and privatised government administration where ethics are subservient to the demands of their political pay-masters; the wide use of “public relations”, or what I prefer to call propaganda/ fake news by government; free education and of course the big one a free public health service. What, you may ask, do I find surreal about that? Well, we had all the stuff that Bernie thinks of as democratically desirable, here in the UK but the political ideology of recent UK governments, has been, quite clearly, to adopt the current American model of hyper capitalism, and complete privatisation, as quickly as is politically possible!
